Dangerous Waters by CM Michaels – Book Review

516s2A+mvML._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_So I recently had the pleasure of reading Dangerous Waters by CM Michael’s and absolutely loved it. This is the first thing that I have ever read by this author and I am absolutely addicted. The book itself has various paranormal aspects to it which I love. Originally I wanted to read the book because I love vampires but what this book has to offer goes well beyond what I could have ever imagined. When I read the book it was perfectly portrayed from what I thought a females prospective to find out that the author is in fact a male. Bravo! I have to say the “supernatural” elements that he has added to the book only betters it. I never go into detail about the actual book because I do not like to give away spoilers but will say there are a few surprises and twists throughout the book that I didn’t see coming. Two thumbs up for Dangerous Waters. I cannot wait to read the rest of his books. If you have yet to get your copy click HERE to do so now!

Frost Burn by Erica Stevens – Book Review

teaser2Erica Stevens, has done it yet once again with her amazing upcoming release of Frost Burn. This book which is part one in her new Fire & Ice Series is seriously amazing. I have always been a huge fan of Erica/Brenda’s books and I think this one has meshed her writing styles from her previous books on both pen names. From the beautiful cover to the amazing new world that she has spun for us with Julian and Quinn which was born from her previous Kindred Series. I love anything paranormal with a hint of mystery and Erica has given it to us in this tiny town that Quinn thinks shes safe in or at least partially happy with no one really bothering her or out to get her. At least she thinks that’s the case and when Julian learns things that even Quinn doesn’t know it will test both of their beliefs and may create an unbreakable bond between two of the most unlikely people who should ever be together. I had the privilege of getting an early ARC of Frost Burn and I am already hooked. I love the way that Julian and Quinn are portrayed in the book and look forwarding to reading more! I highly recommend that you pre-order your copy today so it will be automatically delivered to you when it’s released on the 17th. If you have yet to read the Kindred Series you can still enjoy this one but I recommend starting with the Kindred Series first! Below is the order in which the Kindred Series comes in!

Frost Burn (Book 1 in the Fire & Ice Series)

Kindred (Book 1 in the Kindred Series) FREE!

Ashes (Book 2 in the Kindred Series)

Kindled (Book 3 in the Kindred Series)

Inferno (Book 4 in the Kindred Series)

Phoenix Rising (Book 5 in the Kindred Series)

Elaine Barris – Then & Now Interview

elaineIn June 2013, I first launched VampireForums and the Vampire Forums Facebook Page there was only a handful of authors that I interviewed/reviewed in the beginning with Elaine Barris being one of them. Because of that I wanted to do a new interview that shows where she was then and where she is now. I have chosen Elaine Barris for the Make Me Blush Award. Her Master for Tonight Series was one of the first I had ever read that had even a hint of naughtiness in it and I was hooked. She is an amazing author and I hope that you enjoy the interview and the takeover that she is doing today during the event.

How many books had you released in 2013 and what have you released since then?
I have released two books:  Master For Tonight, and Master For Tonight II. I will be releasing a companion novel to the duet later this summer.

What one thing do you think has changed about the type of writer that you are over the last two years?
I think my writing has gotten tighter. Hopefully, better. That’s for the reader to decide though.

If you could go back and give yourself a single piece of advice two years ago from present day what would it be and why?
Stop stressing. I still struggle with it. Ha!

What has been one major milestone in your writing career that you have reached that you would like to share with us?
I hit top 15 in Paranormal on Amazon for 5 days straight.

Do you think that the services and advertising provided by me/VampireForums has benefited you at all over the last two years? Undoubtedly, it has.

To date what is your favorite vampire book that you have written?
My first is my favorite. I’ll never get over Julian.

Have you branched off into any other new genres that you was not writing in 2013?
No, but I’ve thought about it. My True love is and always will be vampires.

Do you have any new releases coming up and if so what are they and genre?
Yes! Evangeline, a companion novel to the Master For Tonight duet will be released later this summer. It’s vampire.  V”””V

Erica Stevens – Then & Now Interview

ericaIn June 2013, I first launched VampireForums and the Vampire Forums Facebook Page there was only a handful of authors that I interviewed/reviewed in the beginning with Erica Stevens being my very first. Because of that I wanted to do a new interview that shows where she was then and where she is now. I have chosen Erica Stevens for my Captive Captured My Heart Award. Her Captive Series is one of my all time favorite vampire series of all times. She is an amazing author and I hope that you enjoy the interview and the takeover that she is doing today during the event.

How many books had you released in 2013 and what have you released since then?
I released three books in 2013 and I’ve released 7 books since then.

What one thing do you think has changed about the type of writer that you are over the last two years?
I’ve learned a lot more over the years, stuff I never even realized I need to learn. I stay focused on one story at a time now. I still switch off series, because I need to take a break and refresh with something new, but I used to bounce between books all the time whenever I got stuck somewhere.

If you could go back and give yourself a single piece of advice two years ago from present day what would it be and why?
Take a breath, take it easier. You’ll get there eventually. 🙂

What has been one major milestone in your writing career that you have reached that you would like to share with us?
I’ve been able to write full time, which has always been my lifelong dream.

Do you think that the services and advertising provided by me/VampireForums has benefited you at all over the last two years?
Absolutely. I’ve made a lot of friends and many new readers through you.

To date what is your favorite vampire book that you have written?
The prequel to The Captive Series, Broken. It’s the book I love and hate the most. It was by far the most challenging book I’ve ever written, and it’s nothing like anything else I’ve ever written.

Have you branched off into any other new genres that you was not writing in 2013?
No, not yet. I love to write and read paranormal/romance/sci-fi/horror/apocalyptic/dystopian. Though I have an idea for two books I’d like to write that are both outside of those genres.

Do you have any new releases coming up and if so what are they and genre?
My next release is coming out on June 17th. It’s a more mature spinoff to my Kindred Series that focuses on somewhat redeemed bad boy, Julian. It’s a paranormal romance.

Are you currently satisfied at where your writing career stands and do you feel as though you have grown as an author over the last two years?
I’m happy with where I am, I’ve worked hard to get here and have met some amazing people along the way. I like to believe I’ve grown as an author. I’m constantly learning something new and trying to improve my writing. I hope it has shown over the years and that people have noticed.

What is one free resource that all authors should take advantage of?
Social media and starting a mailing list. I waited far too long to start my mailing list and regret it now, but live and learn. 🙂

AK Micheals – Then & Now Interview

avaIn June 2013, I first launched VampireForums and the Vampire Forums Facebook Page there was only a handful of authors that I interviewed/reviewed in the beginning with AK Michaels being one of them. Because of that I wanted to do a new interview that shows where she was then and where she is now. I have chosen AK Michaels for my Creative Mind Award. She is an amazing author and I hope that you enjoy the interview and the takeover that she is doing today during the event.

How many books had you released in 2013 and what have you released since then?
By the end of 2013 I had 8 books live. Now I have 22 with another new release set for the next couple of weeks, plus two boxsets. Wow, reading that back makes me realize how far I’ve come!

What one thing do you think has changed about the type of writer that you are over the last two years?
I’m a much better writer, I hope! I’ve learned with each and every story I’ve written and I’ve certainly grown in confidence lol.

If you could go back and give yourself a single piece of advice two years ago from present day what would it be and why?
Hmm, probably to get a good team around me sooner. I have a team now who I work with closely for my covers, images, swag and editing. They make everything so much better and easier for me.

What has been one major milestone in your writing career that you have reached that you would like to share with us?
My newest series, Highland Wolf Clan, has done immensely well and I am very proud of it.

Do you think that the services and advertising provided by me/VampireForums has benefited you at all over the last two years?
Of course! Vampire Forums is fabulous, as are you hon. You’re a wee star and you know I love you. xx

To date what is your favorite vampire book that you have written?
Oh gosh, that’s hard! It’s like making me choose between my babies lol. If I really had to choose then it would be The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire. I absolutely love Josef!

Have you branched off into any other new genres that you was not writing in 2013?
I still write PNR but my newest series is strictly Wolves and Witches, no Vamps lol. BUT, I’m just about to start book 1 in a brand new series and there most certainly is gonna be a sexy, hot as sin, Vamp in that.

Do you have any new releases coming up and if so what are they and genre?
Yes, several! Books 4 and 5 in the Highland Wolf Clan series are almost ready for release and it won’t be too long until book 1 of my new series is ready.

Are you currently satisfied at where your writing career stands and do you feel as though you have grown as an author over the last two years?
I’ve definitely grown, learned, and enjoyed the past two years. I look back two years and realize just how much I’ve learned.

What is one free resource that all authors should take advantage of?
I think getting their books, images, teasers, out there in FB land and especially via VampireForums! There’s a whole load of book blogging sites that are also free, although a lot do charge for promo, there are still some that will do it for free.

J.A. Melville – The Passion Series Take 2

steamSo a good friend of mine and talented author J.A. Melville was recently signed with a publisher and is in the middle of completely redoing her Passion Series which features a fresh take on the vampire world and giving you a set of books that will keep you coming back for more. There was to be a total of 6 books in the series and once I had devoured the first 5 I was so looking forward to reading the last one but since being signed to the publisher she is redoing the books which means I am still waiting on the last one. However, I was lucky enough to get a couple ARC’s with the new books as changes was made and I have to say I am so proud of this author and the growth that you can see in her books. From the very first time that I met J.A. Melville and read her first book I knew that I would be a fan for life.

J.A. Melville was born to be a writer and it shows in more ways than one. For starters she always shares her day with us ranging from the simple task of shaving her legs to her adventurous outings to the grocery store. She tells a story in almost anything she writes and regardless of whether we are supposed to laugh, cry or be angry she shows and gives emotions to everything. Finding an good author isn’t really that difficult anymore due to the amounts of books being released each year, of which many have to work for their talent but for her it comes naturally.

darkPassion After Dark is the first book in the series and follows the on edge Dominick who falls in love with the talented erotica author Allegra and instantly knows that she is the one for him. Unfortunately when his make Fabian takes notice of her and wants Allegra for himself – Dominick may not get the happily eternity after that he has been dreaming of. Dominick who unlike the other vampires he knows hates what he is but finds that this life could be bearable with Allegra by his side but things are about to go awry for them all when “some of her own capabilities come to light”. This is an amazing book and a must READ! Oh and for a giggle or two make sure to ask J.A. Melville why her and I are fuck but friends for life : )!

controlPassion by Control is the second book in the series and is actually my favorite of them all. As you noticed in book one the oldest vampire in this series Fabian always gets what he wants but maybe this time he’s playing a fire that he won’t be able to handle. Sirene Devereaux has just arrived in town and is on a mission to find a specific man, no not man a vampire. It just so happens that the vampire fawning over this beautiful woman is the one that she has been hired to torment and cause unimaginable pain. Fabian wants this beautiful woman from the time that he laid eyes on her but he soon learns that there is more to her than a pretty face and a rocking body, she’s a witch, and he hates witches. Two paranormal beings is the perfect recipe for disaster but how things turn out you will never see coming. Amazing book and again a MUST READ!

I absolutely love all of the books in the Passion Series and cannot wait to read each one as they are edited and updated. Today is the release party for J.A. Melville’s Passion by Control so make sure to stop by and enjoy all the fun by clicking HERE!

The Girl & The Vampire Author Interview Kira Barker

I recently came across a new author – Kira Barker (well new to me and noticed that she had a short novella named The Girl & The Vampire so of course I wanted to meet her!) I decided I would love to learn more about her while showing her off to the fans of the page so please take a moment to read the interview that I did with her and stop by and check out her website and the book!

What is your favorite type of book to read?
Urban fantasy and post-apocalyptic horror (Zombies anyone?) – but as long as the characters are captivating and the story is strong, I will real pretty much anything.

What inspired your short Novella The Girl & The Vampire?
I love the darker, erotic side of vampires, and I feel like over the past couple of years that has been less well represented, so I wanted to write something that echoed that. The entire novella series was motivated by that, using the different supernatural tropes in what I felt like was the most fascinating way.

Can we expect to see any other paranormal books from you in the near future?
I have a four-book series starring a druid planned (including vamps, werewolves, witches, demons and a few other creepy-crawlies), so likely yes!

How many books do you currently have on the shelf with titles?
I have two books and five novellas.

Caught in the Middle is a BDSM/menage erotic romance. Hunter & Prey erotic thriller/horror. And the Embassy series of novellas, including The Girl & The Vampire.

Do you have a favorite vampire book?
Probably Jeaniene Frost’s Halfway to the Grave.

Do you watch vampire movies or TV shows and if so what is your favorite?
I love watching Supernatural and Buffy. Not sure what my favorite vampire movie would be Interview With The Vampire.

Will there be any future works based on or around the short Novella The Girl & The Vampire?
There might be, I haven’t decided yet. I didn’t plan to expand it but I had a lot of fun writing Celia and Rachel (the main character from the 2nd novella in the series), and a few readers have been asking about more. I’m always happy to oblige such requests!

Are you self published or with a traditional author and what do you find to be the pros and cons of each?
Self-published, and very proud of it! I love being in control of all the steps, and having the freedom to get the version of the story out that I want the audience to read. But it would be nice to not have to promote my work. I hope that in the upcoming years it will be easier to hire professionals for that, just like editors and cover artists now. Then again, I feel like I’m a lot closer to my audience without a publisher and agent running interference, wouldn’t want to change that.

What would you like new fans to know about you as an author?
I like to write a lot of different things, but I always try to create strong female characters. If that’s your thing, I’m your girl!

What advice would you give to other new authors just getting started?
Write, and don’t let anyone discourage you. Just because someone doesn’t agree with what you do (the genre you write in, plot decisions, how fast or slow you churn out books) doesn’t make them right.

If you are interested in learning more about Kira check out her website HERE! Make sure to grab your copy of The Girl & the Vampire by clicking below:
