C.T. Nicholson

Recently we interviewed C.t. Nicholson, author of the Guardian of Society series. The first book – Aiden’s Betrayal is available for purchase. She is currently writing the second book in the series so make sure to check it out. We thank you for taking the time to do the interview with us and we look forward to seeing your work in the near future.

How old were you when you attempted to write your first book?
I actually just started writing about four years ago and wrote on and off up until now. Aiden’s Betrayal was the first book I started writing, but has changed so much since then. Even Aiden’s name. J I actually finished my sci-fi, Forbidden, first. Which will be coming out late August or early September.

What was your inspiration for Aiden’s Betrayal?
I’ve always loved paranormal stories, especially vampires. My favorite thing about writing is being able to create a world unlike the one we live in.

Who is your biggest supporter?
I don’t really know who to say. My family and friends have all been supportive in my writing.

Are you currently working on the next book for this or will it be a standalone book?
I am almost finished with the second in the Guardians of the Society series. This one will be Drake’s story.

Do you have any other books in the works?
Too many to count! My sci-fi, Half-breed series, is being edited right now, which is also a series. Then I have a contemporary, my shifter trilogy, another sci-fi series, and the second of my half-breed series.

What is one thing about you that if most readers knew they would be surprised by?
I’m not a vampire! Just kidding. There’s really nothing too exciting about my life. I work a full-time job as a licensed Optician, have two sons, and a husband. There is one thing that might surprise some. I’m only 24 years old.

Do you have a favorite author and have they inspired you in any way?
I can’t name them all. I love J.R. Wards style of writing. Christine Feehan was my first paranormal romance. Lyndsay Sands is another I never miss with her Argeneau series. There are too many to really say. Terry Spear is another, and she’s such a great person. She’s helped me and so many others with their writing and publishing.

Are you self published and if so do you think that its a difficult process and would you recommend it to others that are aspiring authors?
Aiden’s Betrayal was originally published with Rebel Ink Press in February. I just got my rights back and published it this week on 7/2. I love being in control of my work and will be self-publishing the rest of my writing. I recommend it as long as you’re willing to work at it, and spend the money. You also need to have your work edited. It’s not a cheap process, but worth it.

For those that are just starting out and are hoping to be as successful as you are one day what advice would you give them?
Keep writing. Make yourself a goal and meet it. A daily, weekly, or monthly goal. Don’t let anyone knock you down, and be willing to ask for help. I’ll answer whatever I can if someone needs help.

Thanks so much for the interview.
