Fang Time! A Vampire Book Blood Fest Author Interview – A.K. Michaels

akHere is my author interview with the talented A.K. Michaels for the Fang Time! A Vampire Book Blood Fest Event. We will be featuring her upcoming release Escape: A Vampire Blood Courtesans Romance so make sure to grab your copy today!

What originally inspired you to write about vampires in general?
Honestly? Because I love them! They are strong, mysterious and dangerous and writing about them is so much fun!

Are you currently working on any new projects that you would like to share with us?
I am! My newest story is up for preorder, Escape which is an addition to the Blood Courtesans Series and I’m super excited about it. I thought I’d just be doing that one story but when I finished Monica La Porta said I should do another, and that’s all it took for another story to pop into my head. So, that’s what I’m working on at the moment!

What was your most recent release and what would you like readers to know about it?
Escape, A Vampire Blood Courtesans Romance releases on 10th January and it’s up for preorder now. It joins the Courtesans series but I’ve done my own ‘take’ on it, like it’s set in Scotland, where I live, and the Courtesan isn’t a human, well, not entirely human would be a better description. I loved writing it, especially the sexy scenes!

Do you have a newsletter that you would like readers to sign up or?
I do, it’s called the Sassy Lassie’s VIP Clan and anyone signing up gets a bonus freebie!

How many books do you currently have available that include vampires and how would you describe your writing style in 3 words?
I have over thirty books available and most, not every single one, but most have Vampires in them. All of them do have supernatural beings, Shifters, Vamps, Angels, Demons and a host of others including Dragons! Oh gosh my writing style – exciting, suspenseful and sexy!

Are you a fan of any specific vampire shows or movies?
I love The Originals! I’m more than a little in love with Klaus!

How do you think vampires from decades ago fair against those that we see in modern media?
Oh that’s quite hard to answer but I think the ones nowadays have more sex appeal and not portrayed as always being the villain. I’d say that’s the main change and the ones nowadays have women all hot and bothered rather than scared and hiding behind the sofa!

Is there anything that you would like to see change within the book community?
I’d love if we had a ‘no drama – ever’ policy. I stay away from all the negativity but I am aware of it going on. I, personally, just don’t have the time for it. Life is far too short to spend on drama!

If you could co-write a vampire book with any other author who would you choose and why?
J.R. Ward!! Wow, what I wouldn’t do to write one with them!

Is there any authors out there that you think helped to inspire the author that you are today?
I have some wonderful authors who I call friends and who help me to make my stories the best they can be. One of them is my friend, Monica La Porta. She is awesome and she beta reads most of my stories and any changes she suggests are always spot on! She inspires me to write better and I feel blessed to have her as a friend too.
