Frost Burn by Erica Stevens – Book Review

teaser2Erica Stevens, has done it yet once again with her amazing upcoming release of Frost Burn. This book which is part one in her new Fire & Ice Series is seriously amazing. I have always been a huge fan of Erica/Brenda’s books and I think this one has meshed her writing styles from her previous books on both pen names. From the beautiful cover to the amazing new world that she has spun for us with Julian and Quinn which was born from her previous Kindred Series. I love anything paranormal with a hint of mystery and Erica has given it to us in this tiny town that Quinn thinks shes safe in or at least partially happy with no one really bothering her or out to get her. At least she thinks that’s the case and when Julian learns things that even Quinn doesn’t know it will test both of their beliefs and may create an unbreakable bond between two of the most unlikely people who should ever be together. I had the privilege of getting an early ARC of Frost Burn and I am already hooked. I love the way that Julian and Quinn are portrayed in the book and look forwarding to reading more! I highly recommend that you pre-order your copy today so it will be automatically delivered to you when it’s released on the 17th. If you have yet to read the Kindred Series you can still enjoy this one but I recommend starting with the Kindred Series first! Below is the order in which the Kindred Series comes in!

Frost Burn (Book 1 in the Fire & Ice Series)

Kindred (Book 1 in the Kindred Series) FREE!

Ashes (Book 2 in the Kindred Series)

Kindled (Book 3 in the Kindred Series)

Inferno (Book 4 in the Kindred Series)

Phoenix Rising (Book 5 in the Kindred Series)

Elaine Barris – Then & Now Interview

elaineIn June 2013, I first launched VampireForums and the Vampire Forums Facebook Page there was only a handful of authors that I interviewed/reviewed in the beginning with Elaine Barris being one of them. Because of that I wanted to do a new interview that shows where she was then and where she is now. I have chosen Elaine Barris for the Make Me Blush Award. Her Master for Tonight Series was one of the first I had ever read that had even a hint of naughtiness in it and I was hooked. She is an amazing author and I hope that you enjoy the interview and the takeover that she is doing today during the event.

How many books had you released in 2013 and what have you released since then?
I have released two books:  Master For Tonight, and Master For Tonight II. I will be releasing a companion novel to the duet later this summer.

What one thing do you think has changed about the type of writer that you are over the last two years?
I think my writing has gotten tighter. Hopefully, better. That’s for the reader to decide though.

If you could go back and give yourself a single piece of advice two years ago from present day what would it be and why?
Stop stressing. I still struggle with it. Ha!

What has been one major milestone in your writing career that you have reached that you would like to share with us?
I hit top 15 in Paranormal on Amazon for 5 days straight.

Do you think that the services and advertising provided by me/VampireForums has benefited you at all over the last two years? Undoubtedly, it has.

To date what is your favorite vampire book that you have written?
My first is my favorite. I’ll never get over Julian.

Have you branched off into any other new genres that you was not writing in 2013?
No, but I’ve thought about it. My True love is and always will be vampires.

Do you have any new releases coming up and if so what are they and genre?
Yes! Evangeline, a companion novel to the Master For Tonight duet will be released later this summer. It’s vampire.  V”””V

Are you currently satisfied at where your writing career stands and do you feel as though you have grown as an author over the last two years?
No, I’m not satisfied. I hope I never am satisfied. I think I’ve grown. I definitely know more now than I did then.

Erica Stevens – Then & Now Interview

ericaIn June 2013, I first launched VampireForums and the Vampire Forums Facebook Page there was only a handful of authors that I interviewed/reviewed in the beginning with Erica Stevens being my very first. Because of that I wanted to do a new interview that shows where she was then and where she is now. I have chosen Erica Stevens for my Captive Captured My Heart Award. Her Captive Series is one of my all time favorite vampire series of all times. She is an amazing author and I hope that you enjoy the interview and the takeover that she is doing today during the event.

How many books had you released in 2013 and what have you released since then?
I released three books in 2013 and I’ve released 7 books since then.

What one thing do you think has changed about the type of writer that you are over the last two years?
I’ve learned a lot more over the years, stuff I never even realized I need to learn. I stay focused on one story at a time now. I still switch off series, because I need to take a break and refresh with something new, but I used to bounce between books all the time whenever I got stuck somewhere.

If you could go back and give yourself a single piece of advice two years ago from present day what would it be and why?
Take a breath, take it easier. You’ll get there eventually. 🙂

What has been one major milestone in your writing career that you have reached that you would like to share with us?
I’ve been able to write full time, which has always been my lifelong dream.

Do you think that the services and advertising provided by me/VampireForums has benefited you at all over the last two years?
Absolutely. I’ve made a lot of friends and many new readers through you.

To date what is your favorite vampire book that you have written?
The prequel to The Captive Series, Broken. It’s the book I love and hate the most. It was by far the most challenging book I’ve ever written, and it’s nothing like anything else I’ve ever written.

Have you branched off into any other new genres that you was not writing in 2013?
No, not yet. I love to write and read paranormal/romance/sci-fi/horror/apocalyptic/dystopian. Though I have an idea for two books I’d like to write that are both outside of those genres.

Do you have any new releases coming up and if so what are they and genre?
My next release is coming out on June 17th. It’s a more mature spinoff to my Kindred Series that focuses on somewhat redeemed bad boy, Julian. It’s a paranormal romance.

Are you currently satisfied at where your writing career stands and do you feel as though you have grown as an author over the last two years?
I’m happy with where I am, I’ve worked hard to get here and have met some amazing people along the way. I like to believe I’ve grown as an author. I’m constantly learning something new and trying to improve my writing. I hope it has shown over the years and that people have noticed.

What is one free resource that all authors should take advantage of?
Social media and starting a mailing list. I waited far too long to start my mailing list and regret it now, but live and learn. 🙂

AK Micheals – Then & Now Interview

avaIn June 2013, I first launched VampireForums and the Vampire Forums Facebook Page there was only a handful of authors that I interviewed/reviewed in the beginning with AK Michaels being one of them. Because of that I wanted to do a new interview that shows where she was then and where she is now. I have chosen AK Michaels for my Creative Mind Award. She is an amazing author and I hope that you enjoy the interview and the takeover that she is doing today during the event.

How many books had you released in 2013 and what have you released since then?
By the end of 2013 I had 8 books live. Now I have 22 with another new release set for the next couple of weeks, plus two boxsets. Wow, reading that back makes me realize how far I’ve come!

What one thing do you think has changed about the type of writer that you are over the last two years?
I’m a much better writer, I hope! I’ve learned with each and every story I’ve written and I’ve certainly grown in confidence lol.

If you could go back and give yourself a single piece of advice two years ago from present day what would it be and why?
Hmm, probably to get a good team around me sooner. I have a team now who I work with closely for my covers, images, swag and editing. They make everything so much better and easier for me.

What has been one major milestone in your writing career that you have reached that you would like to share with us?
My newest series, Highland Wolf Clan, has done immensely well and I am very proud of it.

Do you think that the services and advertising provided by me/VampireForums has benefited you at all over the last two years?
Of course! Vampire Forums is fabulous, as are you hon. You’re a wee star and you know I love you. xx

To date what is your favorite vampire book that you have written?
Oh gosh, that’s hard! It’s like making me choose between my babies lol. If I really had to choose then it would be The Witch, The Wolf and The Vampire. I absolutely love Josef!

Have you branched off into any other new genres that you was not writing in 2013?
I still write PNR but my newest series is strictly Wolves and Witches, no Vamps lol. BUT, I’m just about to start book 1 in a brand new series and there most certainly is gonna be a sexy, hot as sin, Vamp in that.

Do you have any new releases coming up and if so what are they and genre?
Yes, several! Books 4 and 5 in the Highland Wolf Clan series are almost ready for release and it won’t be too long until book 1 of my new series is ready.

Are you currently satisfied at where your writing career stands and do you feel as though you have grown as an author over the last two years?
I’ve definitely grown, learned, and enjoyed the past two years. I look back two years and realize just how much I’ve learned.

What is one free resource that all authors should take advantage of?
I think getting their books, images, teasers, out there in FB land and especially via VampireForums! There’s a whole load of book blogging sites that are also free, although a lot do charge for promo, there are still some that will do it for free.
